gritGrit - an introduction to the photography of
Jerry Aaron Hazard
1999 - 2006

Grit. The title istself has become a description of my style, a reference point for my eye, and even seems to have gained a legitimate "classification" in contemporary photography (like "Urban" or "Noir"). Although each page is intended to be consumed individually, GRIT is more a a singular "piece" than it is a collection of random images. Captured between 1999 and 2006, the book leads the viewer through urban enviros; street corners and billboards, and scribbling on walls. It will introduce you to people I've met, ideas/opinions I hold, and unrealities that I lose myself in from time to time. Secrets, manufactured truths, altered realities, bad times and personal triumphs.

Grit is black and white. It is printed on newsprint of medium weight, and the printing is clear and contrasty. 192 pages from front to back in oversized paperback format 6.63x10.25. The cost is 18.99 USD - Released October 2005.
