About The Prints ...

The original prints I produce via the Epson 2200 are just that; Original Prints, not reprints or reproductions. The inkjet(or giclee) print is the end of my creation process. I shoot digitally, download, edit, save and print. I see the digital file as my "negative", that's where most of the work goes. The rest of the work goes into making sure that the printer produces the image I envisioned, getting contrast, colors, saturation, etc. correct to my minds eye. And then each print to emerge from the printer gets my signature, and is an Original Print.

The printer I use is capable of stunning quality, and I have won several awards using the technology of it's predecessors. There are two options for purchasing prints: Signed originals, that I print and sign right here, or unsigned reprints via DeviantArt.

I personally print and sign all original prints. The estimated display life is over 80 years before noticeable fading occurs (equivalent or greater than what the Fuji Frontier "machine prints" offer), and again, for best longevity, prints should be overmatted, framed in glass and displayed away from direct sunlight.

Prints that I sell via Deviantart, I consider reprints. I have no control over what they do with my digital file, if their machine chemistry is right, or how the lab tech will interpret the contrast/lighting in a given image. I cannot sign these as they are produced, and there is no way to guarantee that they will exactly match the original file I created. They will still look good of course, but the only original prints are those I produce here, and sign.

Unsigned reprints are printed on a lustre surface paper (which is very durable and resistant to smudges and fingerprints). Prints are vibrant and sharp, and use Fuji Crystal Archive papers. Display life for these prints is about 75 years before any noticeable fading will occur - of course, for best protection, they should be overmatted and framed, and displayed away from direct sunlight (same as any photograph/art print).

Signed prints are available in various sizes:

8x10/8x12 = $65.00
10x15/11x14 = $130.00
16x20 = $150.00

Panoramic images, or images not conforming to standard size ratios:

length up to 23 inches: $150.00
length up to 34 inches: $200.00
length up to 43 inches: $300.00

Prints will be signed in the lower right margin of the paper, on the white border sized about a half inch wide. Prints will be mounted to archival board, and matted archivally as well. If the print is a part of a limted edition run, it will also be numbered, and include a certificate of authenticity containing the appropriate information. Prints will be poly bagged and packaged safely for protection, and shipped flat. Shipping for signed prints is via USPS Priority Mail, which can take 2-4 business days. It is $8.00 USD for any size.
